Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his flock. Devastated, he went back to the village only to receive a lesson on honesty and the consequences of false check here alarms.

His tale of this shepherd boy has been transmitted generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the importance of honesty, the consequences of lying and the perils of false alarms. Moreover, it emphasizes how trust once violated, is tough to reclaim. It's a story as pertinent today as it was anciently.
